Abraxus was the name of a flying horse that pulled Helios, the sun god's chariot through the sky in Greco-Roman mythology.

The Abraxan Winged Horse is a huge winged palomino horse. The carriage of the Beauxbatons delegation in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was pulled by twelve Abraxans. They are powerful creatures and only drink single-malt whiskey. Other varieties of winged horses include Aethonans and Thestrals.
