Accidental Magic Reversal Department

The Accidental Magic Reversal Department is a sub-department of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes in the Ministry of Magic. Members of this department are called when magic was performed in the presence of Muggles, or had an effect on Muggles that could not be explained with non-magical reasons. Their job is to reverse the effects so that the Muggles have no clue about the existence of the magical world. Often this includes performing memory charms on the Muggle witnesses. Accidental Magic Reversal Squads - presumably a taskforce of this department - are mentioned in Harry's fifth year.
