Word roots

The names Dolohov and Dolores (Umbridge in Harry Potter) are very similar: They root from the Latin and Spanish word dolor, which means pain or sorrow, and from the french word douleur (pain). In Harry Potter, both characters (Dolohov and Dolores Umbridge) are largely related to causing (and sometimes suffering) pain.

These names, as can be well suspected, were chosen intentionally by the author J.K. Rowling, in order to direct readers and viewers of Harry Potter subconsciously.
