History

Asphodel, or in its Latin form Asphodelus Ramosus grows most commonly on the Mediterranean Coast. It belongs to the Lily (Liliaceae) family. The roots must be harvested at the end of the first year of the plant's life. The ancient Greeks planted Asphodel near tombs as they believed it was the preferred food of the dead.
