Augustus Rookwood

Augustus Rookwood is a Death Eater with a pockmarked face and greasy hair. He was convicted of revealing Ministry of Magic secrets to Voldemort and sentenced to Azkaban, from where he escapes in Harry's fifth year.

Rookwood was also one of the names of those involved in the Gunpowder Plot- where a group of Catholics aimed to blow up parliment and King James.

In the first Bloomsbury edition of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix he was mistakenly refered to as Algernon Rookwood.
