Professor Binns, first name Cuthbert, is the only ghost on the teaching staff at Hogwarts. He died one day but went to class and continued to teach as normal. He teaches History of Magic and has the most boring style of all teachers.
Name Origin: A bin is what the British call a garbage can. Many students consider Professor Binns' information to be rubbish. In Northern England, "Binns" is a slang term for glasses, possibly referring to the professor's academic nature.
