Boggart

A Boggart is a shy creature which avoids light and prefers dark, enclosed places. It has no shape of its own: When forced to appear, it shifts into the shape of what the forcing person fears most. To defeat a Boggart one should use the Riddikulus spell. Aside from that, it's harmless.

Name Origin: Possibly from the Irish "bagair" meaning "to brandish, beckon, or threaten." From the book "The Boggart" by Susan Cooper.

Harry Potter - A Dementor.

Hermione Granger - Professor McGonagall telling her she's failed every class.

Ron Weasley - An Acromantula.

Parvati Patil - A mummy.

Seamus Finnigan - A Banshee.

Neville Longbottom - Professor Snape.

Molly Weasley - Members of her family (plus Harry), dead.

Remus Lupin - The full moon.

Albus Dumbledore - His sister Ariana's dead body.
