Buckbeak

Buckbeak is one of Hagrid's hippogriffs at Hogwarts. After hurting Draco Malfoy, Buckbeak was planned to be killed by Walden Macnair, but with the help of Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and a time turner he managed to escape, together with Sirius Black. In Harry's fifth year, Buckbeak is kept hidden in the building at Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place.
During Harry's sixth year, Buckbeak has semi-freedom: he's allowed to run free on the Hogwarts grounds and he gets to stay with Hagrid, but must have the name 'Witherwings,' so he cannot be recognized as the escaped hippogriff still sentenced to death.
