Cornelius Oswald Fudge, was formerly Minister of Magic in the wizarding world. He started out his term seeking advice of many people including Albus Dumbledore however, as his term went on he became accustomed to power and began to become paranoid when Dumbledore informed him that Lord Voldemort had returned. He chose to allow Voldemort to gain power and ignored and explained away all evidence that he was indeed resuming his dark plans. Fudge prosecuted Harry Potter at his hearing in Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. It was then when Harry was found innocent that Fudge tried to take more power over the school by appointing Dolores Umbridge Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. However, when she failed to make any pro-ministry changed he invested her more power making her High Inquisitor at the end of Order of the Phoenix however Fudge saw with his own eyes that Voldemort was back and he was replaced with Rufus Scrimgeour at the end of his term when he was clinging to his post he tried to get Harry Potter on his side to boost confidence in the ministry. Scrimgeour kept Fudge as an adviser and besides relaying messages to The Muggle Prime Minister his duties are unknown.
