Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures

The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures belongs to the Ministry of Magic. With one exception, it deals with all non-human magical life forms - plants, beasts, creatures, even if they strongly object this 'regulation', like the centaurs. This is the second largest Department in the Ministry of Magic.
The exception are the Goblins. Due to their intelligence, but also for political reasons, Goblins are dealt with by the Goblin Liaison Office.
A part of this department is the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures. The classification system for magical beasts, which is also reflected in this Glossary, was established by this Committee.
In the fifth book, the Goblin Liaison Office appears as part of this department. Located at level four in the Ministry, the department then incorporates these institutions:
Amos Diggory, the father of Cedric Diggory, works for this department.
Hermione Granger is also said to work here after her Hogwarts days as well as the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
