Department of Magical Law Enforcement

The Department of Magical Law Enforcement belongs to the Ministry of Magic and is the wizarding equivalent to a Justice Department. Head of the department is Amelia Bones. The department is located at level two in the Ministry and incorporates these institutions:

  • Improper Use of Magic Office
  • Auror Headquarters
  • Wizengamot Administration Services

The Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office - the one in which Arthur Weasley works - is part of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. This office seems too small to be mentioned officially.

From its name, one can assume that the Magical Law Enforcement Squad is part of this department. However, according to information from previous books, the Squad belonged to the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. Maybe a reorganization in the Ministry ...
