| Dudley is an aristocratic surname used as a first name since the 19th century. Also, a town in one of England's largest cities - Birmingham. Dursley is a town near JK Rowling's birthplace. |
Dudley Dursley is Harry's cousin, the son of Vernon Dursley and Petunia Dursley, and a member of Dursley family, with which Harry grew up. He is fat and stupid, both increasing from year to year. He is described by Harry having a pig-like appearance (a pig in a wig with watery-blue eyes), and is also glued to the television. He is extremely and completely spoiled by both his parents.
Before Harry went to Hogwarts, Dudley used to give Harry a time as hard as he could with his limited speed and even more limited brain. He is the head of a group in Muggle school that everyone is scared of, but since they hate Harry, everyone else at school makes fun of him. But since then, he is scared senceless at the bare thought what might happen to him if he ever tries again and Harry fights back using magic....
In the summer before Harry's fifth year Dudley is attacked by a Dementor that Harry manages to repel.
In the last Harry Potter book then you could tell that Dudley didn't think that he was a waste of space. He acually cares about Harry, he wanted to know where Harry was going and why he wasn't going with them.
