Forbidden Forest

The Forbidden Forest (referred to in the movies as the "Dark Forest") is forbidden for a reason, as it is inhabited by various (dangerous) creatures. Among these are: unicorns, centaurs and a herd of Acromantula, children of Aragog, Hagrid's pet when he was a student at Hogwarts. Sirius Black also took refuge here after escaping Azkaban so he could see Harry.
