The Ford Anglia was first used by Ron, Fred and George to "rescue" Harry from the Dursley household, then again “borrowed” by Ron and Harry so they could get to Hogwarts for their second year, after missing the Hogwarts Express due to Dobby blocking the entrance to Platform Nine and Three Quarters.

The name "Anglia" was applied to several revisions of car manufactured by the Ford Motor Company in the UK for the UK market between 1940 and 1967.

The model depicted on the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets book covers and used in the film is a 105E (although, it is not said which model it is in the book). This model had a 997cc inline four cylinder engine and took some styling cues from American cars of the ‘50s era, albeit in a more "modest" form. Over one million 105Es were built between 1959 and 1967, when production ceased and the name dropped in favour of the then new Ford Escort.

It was owned by Ron Weasley’s father, Arthur Weasley who, having more than a passing interest in Muggle artefacts, enchanted the car with several "Non-standard features"; these included the ability to fly, an "Invisibility Booster" so muggles could not see it and "space enhancing" where the interior was expanded, allowing much more to be fitted inside than normal.

After arriving at Hogwarts, it crashed into the Whomping Willow, and displaying a mind of its own, summarily ejected Harry, Ron and their luggage and sped off into the Forbidden Forest where it later rescued the boys from Aragog and his rather over-sized spider family.

As far as we know, the Anglia still resides in the forest.
