Gnome

A gnome is a small creature that generally live in swarms, preferably in mountains, forests, and gardens, where they are considered pests. They do no harm but can become very bothersome. Gnomes can grow as tall as one foot, with disproportionately large heads resembling potatoes. There are gnomes in the garden behind The Burrow.
