Griphook

Griphook is a Gringotts goblin first mentioned in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. He is the goblin who brings Harry and Hagrid down to the vaults prior to Harry's first year.

Harry sees him again in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, after Griphook and another goblin have fled Gringotts. The goblins resent Voldemort taking control. Harry and Griphook come face-to-face when they are both captured by Snatchers. However, they manage to escape, and Griphook agrees to take Harry, Ron, and Hermione to Bellatrix Lestrange's vault on one condition: that they give him the goblin-made Sword of Gryffindor in return for his services. Harry agrees, thinking that he will be able to trick Griphook, but Griphook makes off with the sword, which is not seen again until the end of the book.
