Harry Potter (July 31, 1980-Present) is the hero of the Harry Potter books. He is a fifteen month old toddler when the story begins, a skinny boy of eleven in the first book, and one year older from one book to the next. Harry wears glasses, which causes problems more than once.
Harry is the son of James Potter and Lily Potter, nephew of Vernon Dursley and Petunia Dursley and cousin of Dudley Dursley. Sirius Black is his godfather.
His two best friends are Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. They have faced many challenges together. In terms of school standards, Harry is an average student; however, he offers qualities beyond the narrow rules of schools and teachers. Four qualities in particular are outstanding:
- As a baby, when Lord Voldemort tried to kill Harry after having killed his parents, he broke the power of this evil wizard by being protected by the power of love, as sacrificed by his mother Lily Potter. This is the reason why Harry is famous in the magical world. The event marked him outside with a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead, and inside with some powers and some weaknesses you will find out when reading the books.
- Harry has a natural talent for Quidditch, the most popular and most dangerous sport in the wizarding world. He is the Seeker on his team. In his sixth year, he becomes the Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. However, not even Harry can win every game. Sometimes evil forces of extreme power can make him lose. Harry is also not insusceptible to his own fallacies when it comes to Quidditch. He has nearly lost games by not paying attention and his activities in school have caused him to be banned from participated in matches before.
- Though only an average student in many subjects, Harry has an aptitude for Defence Against the Dark Arts. He is the best in his year in the class, scoring an O (Outstanding) on his O.W.L. exam. He beat his good friend Hermione in his DADA O.W.L (She got an E) and during the only time they had a proper teacher and both sat for the exam, which was Remus Lupin's class in the third year. Harry can produce a patronus (a stag, representing his father, Prongs) and perform any number of other useful defensive spells.
- Harry never looks for trouble, but trouble invariably finds Harry. This is most welcome to every reader of the books. ...
In his fifth year, Harry is the elected leader of Dumbledore's Army.

After the seventh book
Harry and Ginny get married and have three children: James Sirius, Albus Severus and Lily Luna. His children are all named after people who meant a lot to Harry. James= James Potter I, Sirius= Sirius Black. Albus= Albus Dumbledore, Severus= Severus Snape. Lily= Lily Evans-Potter, Luna= Luna Lovegood. He also has a Godson [[Teddy Remus Lupin], named after his grandfather (Ted) and father (Remus). Harry's scar has not hurt for 19 years after the Dark Lord dies. According to Rowling, Harry is the youngest Head of the Auror Department, and has revolutionized how that department works.
Family
In the novels, Harry is the only child of James and Lily Potter, but orphaned as an infant. Rowling made Harry an orphan from the early drafts of her first book. She felt an orphan would be the most interesting character to write about.[1] However, after her mother's death, Rowling wrote Harry as a child longing to see his dead parents again, incorporating her own anguish into him. Harry's aunt and uncle kept the truth about their deaths from Harry, telling him they died in a car accident.[2] Through his marriage to Ginny Weasley, Harry links the Peverell and the House of Black families. It is unknown whether there have been other links between the two families' history, but this is probable, as they are among the most prominent wizarding families.
