Horace E. F. Slughorn: Ex-potions teacher, collects "gems" of students -- the 'Slug Club' -- to surround himself with successful people. Former Head of Slytherin House. Returns to potions after being convinced by Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter. Can disguise himself as an armchair. Short, fat, and bald, with a large moustache, he used to have straw-coloured hair. Had an affinity for Lily Potter, and the children of the Black family. Has been at Hogwarts at least since the Riddle era, and had Tom Riddle among his circle of "gems". During his time there he was Head of Slytherin house.
