House in the sense of the Harry Potter novels means the four houses in Hogwarts. Each student belongs to one of these houses, named after the founders of Hogwarts. The houses run tight competitions against each other for the House Cup and for the Hogwarts Quidditch Cup. The four Hogwarts houses are:
