What is interwiki?

Interwiki is a feature that allows links to other wikis like wikipedia and "normal" sites such as Google, without having to remember their full URLs and the format for each one.

How to use

The basic tag is made up of a prefix, a colon then the page name ([[prefix:page name]]), for example:

[[wikipedia:InterWiki]]

Will link to the InterWiki page on Wikipedia. You can also just use the prefix (with a trailing colon) to just link to the site itself, and a pipe character to change the title, as with internal links. For example:

[[wikipedia:]] gives wikipedia:
[[wikipedia:|some title]] gives some title
[[wikipedia:InterWiki|some title]] gives some title
[[wikipedia:InterWiki]] gives wikipedia:InterWiki
