Katie Bell

Katie Bell is a Gryffindor student one year older than Harry. She played Chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team alongside Angelina Johnson and Alicia Spinnet and later Ginny Weasley and Demelza Robins. She was also a member of Dumbledore's Army.

Katie seems to have a spot of bad luck, on and off the Quidditch pitch. In her fourth year, Montague of Slytherin purposely grabbed her head instead of the Quaffle, nearly taking her off her broom. In her sixth year, she has a run-in with Peeves in an empty classroom and he pelted her with ink pellets and then emptied an inkwell on her head. During his first practice as Gryffindor Keeper, Ron passed the Quaffle to her with so much force that she was not able to catch it and it resulted in a nosebleed. To expound this, Fred Weasley gave her the wrong end of a Nosebleed Nougat -- the end that starts the nosebleed rather than stops it. Practice had to be called off because she could not stop losing blood. As the crowning glory to all this, in the fall of her seventh year Katie was put under the Imperius Curse by Madam Rosmerta during the Hogsmeade weekend to carry a parcel containing a cursed opal necklace to someone at Hogwarts. The parcel broke open when she was arguing with her friend Leanne and when Katie touched the necklace, she levitated in the air and writhed in pain before collapsing. She had to be taken to St. Mungo's, but returned before the school year was out, in time to take part in the last Quidditch match.[[Category:Characters{Bell, Katie]]
