Parvati Patil is a student in the Gryffindor house of Hogwarts, in the same year as Harry. She is one of the two girls who seem to have found their profession in Divination. The other is Lavender Brown.
Parvati has a twin sister, Padma, who is in the Ravenclaw house. In Harry's fourth year, Parvati is Harry's partner at the Yule Ball. Both twins are members of Dumbledore's Army.
Parvati and her sister Padma have been labelled as the most beautiful girls of Harry's year by Dean Thomas in the scene where Harry and Ron and getting ready for the Yule Ball in the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
