Percy Weasley is a student in the Gryffindor house of Hogwarts and the third child in the Weasley family. His younger brothers call him 'Pompous Percy' - but normally only out of earshot. Percy wants to have a career in the Ministry of Magic, so he works hard at Hogwarts. That earned him the position of a Prefect. In reward he was given Hermes, his owl, as a present from his parents.
In his last year at Hogwarts, which is Harry's third, Percy becomes Head Boy - the second in the family after Bill. In the same year, he starts dating his girlfriend Penelope.
In Harry's fourth year, Percy works for the Department of International Magical Cooperation in the Ministry of Magic. In Harry's fifth year, he is promoted to a Junior Assistant of the Minister himself, Cornelius Fudge. At the same time, Percy breaks ties with his family.
In Harry's fifth year, Percy Weasley declares that his loyalty lies with the Ministry, and provokes an outburst from the normally docile Mr Weasley. According to the Weasley children, every time Percy is mentioned thereafter, their father drops whatever he is holding and their mother cries. The Weasley children now bare a grudge against Percy and rarely if ever mention him, and when they do always with some sort of derisive remark. Percy makes a point of demonstrating his split from the family:
- He sends back his Christmas jumper
- He shuts the door in his Mother's face when she comes to visit him
- In Arthur's picture of the family, Percy has walked out
However, Percy appears to only bear a grudge against his mother and father, and so he sends Ron a detailed letter congratulating him on becoming a Prefect, to tell Professor Umbridge| anything, and to stay away from Harry Potter; Harry in question appears unsure whether to laugh or not. Ron rips up the letter, calling him a git.
In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Percy returns with the new minister, Rufus Scrimgeour, to The Burrow. His mother is overjoyed, but the rest of the family bristles at his arrival, and eventually he leaves with no better ties with them after a food fight occurs.
Sometime after he reunites with his family at the Second Battle of Hogwarts, he gets married to a woman named Audrey and has two girls named Molly and Lucy.
