Pigwidgeon

Pigwidgeon is the excitable miniscule owl given to Ron Weasley by Sirius Black to make up for the loss of Ron's pet rat Scabbers. It was named by Ron's sister Ginny, and abbreviated 'Pig' due to Ron's annoyance at Ginny naming it.

Pig often appears hyperactive, twittering and hooting constantly(often triggered by some other form of excitement in the room), often to Ron's embarrasment- however some people, particularly girls(such as Luna Lovegood and assumably Ginny), find his behaviour cute. He is also often of annoyance to the more aloof and dignified Hedwig.

Ron often has to reach up and "catch" Pig out of the air much like a flying baseball. As an owl, he doesn't get as much attention as Scabbers, though Ron may have been scared out of spending time on pets by the fact that his last pet turned out to be human. He did, however, offer it to Crookshanks on recieving Pig, and since this Ron has not complained about either his loss of Scabbers or Crookshanks.
