Rupert Grint

Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint was born August 24, 1988 in Hertfordshire, England. He is the oldest of 5 children, with a younger brother and three younger sisters.

Prior to snagging the role of Ron Weasley, Rupert's acting experience was limited. He attended the Top Hat Stage School, and was once cast as Rumplestilskin in a school play.

Once Rupert found out about the Harry Potter auditions through the UK television show Newsround, he immediately went for the part of Ron. After writing a letter to the casting agents, and not hearing back from them for months, Rupert decided to try another technique. He videotaped himself pretending to be his drama teacher (who was a girl), and made up a rap saying why he should be cast. Clearly, it worked and Rupert was cast as Ron Weasley.

Rupert has since acted in all five Harry Potter films, and has even taken up other projects.
