Introduction

The Schoolbooks were published in March 2001 in aid of Comic Relief. They give the wizarding world extra colour and depth, but are apart from the Harry Potter storyline.

The Books

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

FB is a facsimile of Harry Potter's Care of Magical Creatures textbook, complete with annotations (or rather, graffiti) about the various species that Harry Potter and friends have encountered. It includes a foreword by Albus Dumbledore about the charitable aims of the book. There are 84 species included in the book (with 10 types of dragon), which are all named, given a Ministry of Magic classification about how dangerous they are and a brief description. Illustrations are, sadly, somewhat sparse.

Quidditch Through the Ages

QTTA is a facsimile of a library book taken from Hogwarts' library. It includes, again, a foreword from Albus Dumbledore and is 'annotated' by Harry Potter and friends. It details the history of broomsticks and Quidditch, the rules, and also discusses the modern Quidditch game.
