Seamus Finnigan

Seamus Finnigan is a student in the Gryffindor house of Hogwarts, in the same year as Harry and sharing the same dormitory with him, Ron, Dean Thomas, and Neville Longbottom. Seamus is sandy-haired and of Irish ancestry. His father is a Muggle, and his mother is a witch, though she only informs her husband of that after the wedding.

Seamus' mother was against him returning to Hogwarts for his fifth year after the death of Cedric Diggory and the Daily Prophet articles about Harry and Dumbledore. After Harry's interview is published in The Quibbler, Seamus apologizes to Harry and joins Dumbledore's Army.
