Many "ships" - fandom termionology for romantic relationships - exist in the Harry Potter universe. There are the canon ones such as Harry and Ginny, Ron and Hermione, Remus and Tonks, and obviously the married couples. And those are just a few; fans do not restrict their support to canon pairings. Other ships have been created, like the popular Harry and Hermione pairing. Not all ships are male/female, either. A few of the more popular slash ships are Harry/Draco, Harry/Ron and Remus/Sirius.

Many ships have aquired names that sometimes have significant meanings to the shippers. Some examples are: Ron/Hermione aka 'The Good Ship', Harry/Hermione aka Pumpkin Pie, Draco/Hermione is Dramione or 'Leather and Libraries', and Harry/Draco aka Guns 'n' Handcuffs. There are ship names for nearly every pairing imaginable and are sometimes used as thread names on FictionAlley Park's SCUSA forums.
