Talk:Phoenix
From Hpwiki
I shall look into this subject - from what I have so far found:
- multiple of phoenix is phoenixes and not phoenices
- I have so far found absolutely no reference to the spelling "bnw", however, I have found bennu and benu. Perhaps bnw is a literal translation? --AndyM 22:32, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- re 2. - Yes, you're right bnw is the literal translation of the hieroglyph for benu or phoenix. Because it is pronounced benu it is often written that way too (or as bennu). See the glossary here and here in an essay by Dr. Zahi Hawass. See also this page for a history of the hieroglyph for benu. --Sang_dencre 05:54, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
