The Quibbler

The Quibbler is a magazine that publishes unusual and conspiratorial articles that other, more mainstream (and highly regarded), publications such as the Daily Prophet will not touch. These articles are usually about things or events that cannot be proven. The magazine's quip seems to be, "BUT DOES HE/SHE?" The magazine seems to use rather bad caricatures. Its publisher is Luna Lovegood's father Xenophilius Lovegood.

Stories

Some of the stories which have been included in the magazine include:

"How Far Will Fudge go to Gain Gringotts?"

This story deals with the allegations of a 'Ministry insider' that "Fudge's dearest ambition is to seize control of the goblin gold supplies and that he will not hesitate to use force if need be." Apparently, Fudge has had goblins drowned, dropped off buildings, poisoned, cooked in pies...the list goes on, but the reader Harry refuses to read any further.

"Sirius Black: Villain or Victim?"

This story claims there is evidence to believe that Sirius Black is actually Stubby Boardman, lead singer of the Hob Goblins. The article claims that Sirius was actually "enjoying a candlelit dinner..." with Doris Purkiss, of 18 Acanthia Way, when the killings occurred.

"HARRY POTTER SPEAKS OUT AT LAST: THE TRUTH ABOUT HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED AND THE NIGHT I SAW HIM RETURN"

This article is genuine, having being given by Harry himself in an attempt to share his true story and warn people of Lord Voldemort. It also has the unprecedented benefits of infuriating Professor Umbridge, forcing her to bring in yet another Educational Decree. The degree backfires and the Quibbler is all over the school.

The interview was written by Rita Skeeter, former writer of degrading articles aimed at Harry. She was forced to write the article positively by Hermione. Harry receives lots of letters, from converts and firm believers that Harry is "off his rocker." According to Luna, no edition had ever sold out faster. The interview was later bought by the Daily Prophet, for a very good price, and written off as "exclusive".
