Time-Turner
From Hpwiki
A Time-Turner is a magical object which enables the user to go back in time. It looks like a large gold chain with an hourglass on it. Time Travel through use of it is measured in hours or "turns" (of the hourglass)
Hermione Granger used a Time-Turner to reach all her classes in her third year, having taken every one possible. This caused her to disappear and reappear again behind Harry and Ron, much to their bewilderment. She swears not to tell anyone about the Time-Turner. Use of it makes her overworked and exhausted- she ends up storming out of Divination and hitting Draco Malfoy across the face.
Harry and Hermione use the Time-Turner in that year to save Sirius Black from the Dementor's kiss. Hermione drops Muggle Studies that year and is allowed to have a normal timetable.
Time-Turners re-appear again in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, in which the Ministry's supply of them is smashed. They are briefly mentioned in the sixth book.
