Triwizard Tournament

The Triwizard Tournament is a friendly competition between the three major magical schools in Europe: Beauxbatons, Durmstrang and Hogwarts. The Goblet of Fire selcets one student from each school to compete. The three champions compete in three difficult tasks for the Triwizard Cup and a large sum of money.

The tournament first took place some time in the 13th century. Eventually, it was discontinued because of the increasing amount of deaths. An attempt to reintroduce the Triwizard Tournament was made 1994, but the outcome was not anticipated, involving the death of Cedric Diggory and the witnessing of Lord Voldemort's return by Harry Potter. The Triwizard Tournament was no longer held thereafter.
