Xenophilius Lovegood is the father of Ravenclaw student Luna Lovegood. He is the editor of the magazine "The Quibbler", which became respected after the article about Harry Potter in the fifth book. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we find that he is trying to recreate the lost diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw, which bestows wisdom onto the wearer. After the loss of his wife, Xenophilius would do anything to protect Luna. Including turning Harry over to the Death Eaters.
Living
Lawn
- The Lovegoods live in Ottery St. Catchpole, a few hills away from the Burrow. On the outside, the house looks like giant version of the chess piece rook, or the castle, made with black stone. On the gate that leads to the front door, there are three signs painted and attached to it.
THE QUIBBLER. EDITOR: X. LOVEGOOD.
PICK YOUR OWN MISTLETOE
and
KEEP OFF THE DIRIGIBLE PLUMS
- The path leading to the door is overgrown with odd plants. The bush of radish like fruit that Luna uses for earrings is among those.
Aged crab apple trees heavy with red fruit and mistletoe stood on either side of the door.
Interior
- When entering through the front door, you immediately enter the kitchen. An extremely cluttered kitchen. The walls are as curved on the inside as the outside, so the stove, sink, and all of the cupboards are curved as well to fit the walls. Every surface is painted with pictures of flowers, insects, and birds in bright colours.
- In the middle of the room, there is a spiral staircase made in wrought-iron leading to the upper floors.
- The room you enter is a combination of the living room and the office or workplace. These walls were round as well and had models of creatures normally one wouldn't recognize hanging from the ceiling. There are papers and books littering every surface. In one part of the room, there is an old fashioned printing press running on magic that churns out the Quibbler.
